New blog post – the joy is in the climb – 90 second read
This weeks post is based on an extract from my self-published book Adventures In Happiness. It takes me back to when I summited Jbel Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa.
I had been travelling through Morocco, in my campervan, for a few weeks and stopped to explore the High Atlas mountains. I found a place to stay in the region, decided to hike to the highest point, and arranged a guide.
It was a decent hike to 4167 metres made harder by the idea to push on to the top in one long day, rather than sleep at a refuge, rest, and carry on the next day. The idea being to miss all the crowds of people at the top.
Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of people doing a lot harder things than me, but the experience gave me an insight for my book.
You can read the short extract here: The joy is in the climb. It’s a one minute read.
Have a good week.
PS. If you are interested in the whole story take a look at my book here.
