Five years ago, I left a twenty-one-year corporate career and began a journey that led me through Europe and Morocco in a twenty-year-old campervan; backpacking right across South Africa; trekking up into the Himalayan mountains, and exploring the busy streets of India.
Along the way, I created a blog about the adventure, which I then turned into a book. That may be a cliché, but I wanted to capture my journey and share out what it was really like – the good and the bad. But, I also wanted to share out some of what I’d learnt along the way. After all, there’s nothing quite like a complete change, or a fresh challenge, to invoke some serious personal growth!
At the moment, I run a landscaping business; work as a freelance writer, and spend time planning adventures whilst pursuing my passion for kitesurfing. My background is Mechanical engineering; project planning, and learning and development, and I’m finding many skills transfer across.
