There’s lots of talk on the benefit of ‘morning routines’ so I decided to give a few of them a go. Nothing too serious – I just took ideas from people I follow (Tim Ferris, Wim Hof, and Andy Puddicombe) and came up with my own.
Disclaimer – I have absolutely no affliiation to the above, and can’t confess to being any kind of expert. But does it work….try it for yourself and you’ll see 🙂

Here we go:
Make your bed. I wonder how something so simple (and tedious) can have an impact but, in this world of flitting attention, endless choice, and decision fatigue, it seems to set you off on the right foot.
Ten minutes meditation. There are many ways to do this. I enjoy a yoga routine whilst focussing on my breathing. If sitting still is more your thing, the headspace App is good as well.
Cold shower! Brutal but very liberating. I know a few people who step it up and cold water swim most mornings. Nutters.
Make a coffee or tea and sit and write what you’re grateful for. I’m as guilty as the next person of missing what’s right in front of me. A few moments of gratitude seems to go a long way.
That’s it. Easy to do and takes about 20-30 minutes. Even if you only manage one or two, it’s one or two better than none. and you’ve set yourself up for a win!
Have a good week.
