It turns out that writing a book was the easy part. At least easy in the sense that you sit, write, create, edit and (hopefully) you are left with something that you are happy and proud of.
Publishing, however, it is whole new game to play. And I think I quite like it.
From a traditional publishing house to a literary agent, from ebooks to vanity publishing, from print on demand to self publishing providers. There’s a lot to learn, and that’s before you even get into marketing and selling!
Once again, I have an even higher level of respect for anyone who sits, writes, edits, and manages to get a book out there. It’s far from impossible but it really takes a certain level of commitment…..so it’s a good job I don’t have a job, or a home, or a life.
And I now sleep with this under my pillow (the book, not the whiskey, but that’s only because the bottle’s empty).
PS. If anyone wants to know about the process, send me a message. I’m happy to share what I have learnt so far. Sharing is caring after all 🙂
Great read8ng your blog. Good luck in publishing your book! I’ll be buying it once it is available.
Keep up the good work.
