The past 5 days have flown by with a mix of working / researching, some kitesurfing, getting into a detox routine, and trying to get into some kind of training routine.
I’ve managed a few runs and swims, and managed to swim into the pool wall (no goggles, lesson learnt!)
Life in Tarifa is good, and you can defnitely tell it’s getting into the peak season!
There are more and more people on the beaches, kite surfers, stag parties…..weekends are a little crazy here, and the locals are out until 5am on some of the streets, funny, but not so funny when you are free living in a van trying to sleep!!
Work wise has been full on the past week and it’s finished for now, I have provided some good research material (so I am told?!) for the book, and I have also picked up some knowledge on some interesting topics round career change, simplicity, minimalism, epigenetics, social tribes, creativity, environment…..heavy going and geeky but hey.

Kiting has been good, and I have scored some good sessions with both wind patterns that work here, I seem to be getting on the water about 4 or 5 out of 7 days, but only for an hour or two at a time due to working.

It’s all good though and the forecast looks promising for the next 4 days…..and I’m free and easy again 🙂
The Tarifa kitesurf worldchampionships are also on this week so plan to check some of that out. Really looking forward to this event and seeing the pro riders in action!!
Loads more I could blog about, but i plan to do a separate post on my 7 day detox, which was so good I extended from 3 to 5 to 7 days.
Just to wrap up, check out this amazing board repair the guys at wet surf shop did for me! €60 versus a new board at €500….

Have a great day 🙂
