I have (had) worked for the same global organisation for over 20 years. Nothing wrong with that and it has provided me with a pretty good lifestyle, but when the opportunity to take voluntary redundancy came up, I knew I had to give it a try.
I see it as a chance to get some things out of my system that I have had in mind for a while, and explore some dreams I have had, and to take a break from what I have known for so long.
Pretty scary, but when my application was accepted at the start of March 2015 I signed on the line. Committed!
My leaving presentation was good and something I will not forget, a good mix of positive personal, and positive professional feedback (and I think I got away lightly!).
I will miss the people, but at the same time know the time is right for me, and am pleased to leave on a good note after some pretty challenging and interesting years.
